It’s that time of year again. You are as tan as you can possibly be. Your liver is most likely very upset with your summertime alter ego. Photos of you keep popping up on Facebook that you immediately must de-tag. And yes…snowboard premier season is officially under way. In celebration of the countdown to opening day, here is the teaser for Absinthe Films latest gift, “Nowhere.”

posted on 10.02.10 Peep Game: Omatic’s Eric Willett throwing down @Breck

It’s highly enjoyable to watch someone throw down on a run we BDN contributors lap on the regs.  Eric Willett is holding it down for Breckenridge and CO in general.  This run is nasty. Its gross.  Get it outta here!

Thanks for shooting this over @OmaticSnoboards

posted on 31.01.10 Best of S.I.A. 2010

Well it was no Vegas but Denver rocked this years S.I.A. (SnowSports Industries America) Snow Show. The best booths especially captured buyers attention.

Amongst the best were…

Along with their fun colorful collection, Neff added a clean refined line this year that I especially liked, with free beanie giveaways they take home the prize for best S.W.A.G.

With a non stop live DJ, random dance parties and live art, Skull Candy had the most entertaining and perhaps most talked about booth at the show.

Year after year Coal makes the best hats in the business there clean lined wood grain display goes perfectly with the look they have come up with.

We love Airblaster and they know it therefor less is more. No need for fancy tricks here a simple tent and the product speaks for itself.

Volcom was the only booth doing design your own free tees and hats which is soooooo Volcom.

With the budget they shell out for these things it would be hard not to kill it. With a Casino theme and everything visible to everyone, Burton is not ashamed to say they still own the industry.

My personal favorite, Holden had the most tasteful and stylish display at the show. As for their product, they keep it so secret I can only reveal that they have some of the most unique best looking stuff coming out for 2011.

posted on 24.01.10 US Olympic Snowboard Team Announced :: Go Louie! Ride Omatic!

All bad snowboard news aside (Kevin Pearce, Danny Davis) the US Olympic Snowboard Team has been announced. For the men we have Shaun White, Scotty Lago, and Omatic’s very own Louie Vito!

We have watched Louie progress every summer at Windells and seen him come up through the ranks of halfpipe riding. Last year brought him to the masses on Dancing with the Stars and this year could bring him an Olympic medal! We here at BDN will be cheering him on while shaking Cowbell2010 on our iPhones! And for the ladies we have Kelly Clark, Hannah Teter, and Colorado’s own Gretchen Bleiler holding it down. Good luck team!

posted on 12.01.10 Satellite x Snowboard Mag x New Era: Supershops Collection

I had the chance to work with Satellite on a Snowboard Mag Supershops Collection New Era Colab.  Satellite was one of 4 shops chosen to design a n New Era for the feature.  We went with the original red, white and blue Nuggets colorway and the classic CU Colorado font on the bottom.  The back has a #7 for the number of years Satellite has been in business. They should be available soon at both Satellite and Installation.

posted on 08.01.10 Windells Under Construction :: Web 2.bro

While touring the Northwest with the Burton Am Series at Mt Hood Meadows this weekend I had a chance to stop by Windells to check out the campus and see the improvements.  To anyone who has not been to Windells in the last few years, or ever for that matter, there have been massive additions in the way of outdoor concrete skate features.  The mad scientists are working all winter to lay as much concrete as possible before campers run rampant again.  Bonafied dope.

Oh yeah, they also have a new basketball hoop.  Who’s in for a game of lightning before pasta night at the Heshin’ Delicatessen?

Coming in hot is one of our favorite riders, Eero Ettala.  Fresh off a year of filming for his TV Show “Tracking Eero” for OAKLEY comes his “best video part never” to fill your shred brain with expletives like “WTF,” “Wha?” and “Saaaweet!”  BDN Stoke Certified.

The “Tracking Eero” project in his own words…

The Euro heads from Zimstern clothing couldn’t wait for snow, so they are riding the leaves in the alps in preparation for the imminent winter season.  Check out the inspired commercial and definitely watch the ‘making of’ video to gain full appreciation for the project.

posted on 01.09.09 Doctor’s Order : Web 2.bro now prescribes Montevideo!

This video passed by my radar a few days back and I feel it has to be shared with ya’ll.  After melting in 114 degree temps all weekend in Las Vegas and Phoenix, the best cure is 80 degrees in Boulder and of course, snowboard teasers.  Although we highlighted all of the video we are anticipating the most this season already, the new ‘Montevideo’ from The Autumn Line looks too sweet to fall through the cracks.  Being a child of the 80’s, we absolutely love the tribute to VHS that is dubbed all over this film.
