Thanks again to the all knowing “music magic eight ball” that is Neon Gold Records, everyone (including you now) will know about the kiwi quintet The Naked and The Famous before they blow up hear in the states, probably in a year, maybe less if they get used for a new car commercial. I love the Passion Pit’esque vocal layering on their first single ‘Young Blood,’ a tasty little summer peach of a tune. Sure to make many a mixtape, including mine. Although we are still waiting for the album to release, it will be well worth it. Below is a live recording of the unreleased track, ‘The Sun.’ Maybe if I play them enough it will actually make a beach appearance this weekend, I really don’t want to see Faugust become a reality.

I think I watched this video 5 times in a row last night before drifting to never never land. Albeit a bit ambiguous in sight and sound and conjuring up comparisons to Empire of The Sun and The Presets, the Swedish duo The Sound of Arrows bring a total package to the indie electropop table with the video of their new single Into The Clouds. Certified Epic.

The Sound of Arrows are a new breed of pop superstars. With a 100% D.I.Y. aesthetic to their craft, they write and produce their own tracks, handle all of their own design work and even craft their own music videos, and they do all of it pretty fucking masterfully. Popjustice put it rather well in describing the Swedish duo as “one of those bands who’d surprise precisely nobody by coming out with an international Number One pop single” after they unleashed their flagship anthem “M.A.G.I.C.” on the world last January, and now they’re primed to release their US/UK debut on Neon Gold this autumn. More details on that to come, but for now feast your eyes and ears on “M.A.G.I.C.” and it’s dazzling accompanying promo video above.
