We have posted quite a few of Kid Cudi’s music videos, but for reasons still unknown to science, we still can’t get enough. Here Cudi and Snoop-a-loop colab on an amazingly simple yet intoxicating video for “That Tree.” Personally I love The Filth remix much better, but the original is still loads of fun.
And for the second, we are pulling one out of the vault. James Brown’s 1964 performance of ‘Please Please Please’ on the T.A.M.I. Show is one of the best of all time. Jump to 2:30 and enjoy a piece of history.

Happy Friday! Cant believe its almost May, where did the first four go? For anyone that has been keeping track, we are coming up on the one year mark of my release of the May Day! mixtape. Well, after a hiatus from mixing, I decided to step it up and with the help of Nick Todd I have been messing around with Ableton Live. Its amazing that I was able to put together mixtapes with Garage Band for so long without throwing my computer into oncoming traffic. In preparation for a bigger project I am giving you a short four song mix I just put together.
The first track was so fun to work with and where I really fell in love with ableton. Taking 3oh!3’s new track House Party and mashing it with the Euro sound of Swedish House Mafia brings the track to another level and is prime to kill the dance floor. Hope you like the minimix, there will be more to come.
And if you love the artwork as much as I do, raise your 8-bit cartridge to designer Dan Trenkner, soon to be my roomate (again) in San Diego.

4. The Hood Internet - Blowin’ Money At The Deli (Drake x Birdman x Delorean)

Today I bring you two of my favorite tracks this week and their equally amazing videos.

First off we have Dan Black’s flawless Symphonies remix featuring Kid Cudi. My initial reactions to the first cut of Symphonies were covered last summer in a Noise Not Unheard post (read now). It came as a big surprise to me when the remix was accompanied by a remix of the music video with Cudi co starring. Even more surprising, it is as brilliant if not more so than the original. 5 exploding supernovas from me.
Next up is UK chart buster Tinie Tempah with his number one single Pass Out. I love the song and the riddim is absolutley fire. Unfortunately the bastardos at EMI have denied any embedding of the video so you are gonna have to head over to youtube to see it (click here). Its even unavailable to watch on his very own site. Just another sign of the times, a broken corporate business model repeatedly shoving its own head further into the rabbit hole. EMI, come on, grow up and blow away.

Some rando tracks from our Tahoe trip this weekend. Super fun time riding and gambling our money away.
TV On The Radio - Staring At The Sun (Diplo Remix
Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed (Monsieur Adi Remix)
Yung Berg - Blowin Money feat Rockstar & K Smith

Nobody can argue against the almighty power of the mixtape, especially after a year like 2009. We have seen artists like Wale, Drake, and Kid Cudi rise from underground hip-hop to the main stage of radio, MTV and iTunes. As purveyors and champions of the mixtape, we here at BDN strive to filter the best of the best to you the reader. Here are some late season goodies that have been playing around the office the last few weeks.
First up is the much anticipated Mixtape Volume 4 by Hood Internet.

Then we have one of my personal favorites, Chiddy Bang’s long over due Mixtape, The Swelly Express. Not much new music here but it is nice to have it all in a great lil’ package for those inevitable road trips.

One of our favorite new kids in the hip-hop game, Whiz Khalifa, has been pumping out mixtapes like crazy this year. Add ‘Burn After Rolling’ to the list, and then be sure to buy his first album ‘Deal or No Deal’ hitting stores next Tuesday!

Last but not least, yet another masterful Jay-Z mixtape has been added to the already long list. Taking a slightly different approach, Music Without Borders has remixed the American Gangster Soundtrack with the sounds of 70’s Indian cinema. Give a “Hindustani Gangster” a listen.

It’s official, 3OH!3 have released the remix of their number one song on the radio, ‘Don’t Trust Me’ feat. Mike Posner and Kid Cudi! Be sure to download it below.

And if you haven’t heard, inside sources at BDN have confirmed that the next single off their ‘Want’ album ‘Starstrukk’ has been remixed and will feature none other than last summer’s chart topper Katy Perry. We got a sneak listen and can’t wait to see the kids flip their shit. Till then, check the foot to face video for ‘Starstrukk.’
